Alejandro Tellez
Multi-time NZ Kickboxing Champion
Alejandro “El Guerrero” Tellez began his Muay Thai journey at just 11 years old in Hamilton, New Zealand, where he was raised through TMT (Tihipuke Muay Thai). He made his competitive debut on his 13th birthday and has since developed into an experienced and accomplished combat athlete.
Throughout his Muay Thai career, Alejandro has competed against high-level opposition across New Zealand and internationally. His experience includes major events such as the IFMA World Championships, as well as an Aussie Nationals Gold Medal victory on the Gold Coast, Australia.
Alejandro has captured multiple championship titles throughout his career. His first major title came in the WKBF New Zealand Lightweight Championship, where he secured the belt by knockout against a highly experienced opponent. He later claimed the WKBF Super Lightweight Championship after a demanding five-round battle, demonstrating his ability to perform at a high level under pressure. He successfully defended the title in his following bout, dominating the contest and maintaining his status as champion.
He subsequently captured the ISKA New Zealand Championship, stopping his opponent in the second round. Following this victory, Alejandro became known for his forward-pressure style, heavy hands, and aggressive approach to combat.
In pursuit of his fourth championship belt, Alejandro stepped up to compete for the Pro AMTA New Zealand Title against another tough and respected opponent. He dropped his opponent in the second round and went on to control the fight across all five rounds to secure another championship victory.
Alejandro has also gained international training and competition experience. He travelled to Bang Tao Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand, where he prepared for a boxing tournament contested in 4oz gloves. Competing under the Hype Fighting format, he advanced to the semifinals, further expanding his experience across different combat sports disciplines.
Over the years, Alejandro has also competed in King in the Ring, gaining valuable experience through numerous high-level and hard-fought battles.

Transition to MMA
After building an extensive foundation in Muay Thai and boxing, Alejandro began expanding his skill set into mixed martial arts. He trained at City Kickboxing, a renowned MMA gym in Auckland and the training home of elite fighters including Israel Adesanya, Kai Kara France Carlos Ulberg and Dan Hooker. During this period, Alejandro developed his wrestling, grappling, and overall MMA knowledge, gaining valuable experience in the disciplines required to compete at a high level in MMA.
With his striking background combined with his developing wrestling and MMA skill set, Alejandro is now beginning the next chapter of his career with CORE MMA, where he is continuing to develop as a complete mixed martial artist.
With years of championship-level Muay Thai experience, international competition, proven knockout power, forward pressure, and a growing all-around MMA game, Alejandro is ready to make his mark in the sport and begin his journey toward the biggest stages in MMA.
